Varieties: 100 % Pinotage

Origin: Simonsberg - Stellenbosch

Climate: Cold wet winter with warm and dry conditions during ripening of fruit.

Age of Vines: 54 Years

Trellis: Bush vines only

Irrigation: Dry land

Soil: Decomposed granite and Hutton

Yield: 5.6 Tons/ha, or 3 600 litres/ha

Vinification: 3.5 Days on skins in open fermenters at 29 °C – Cap punched manually.

Maturation: 14 Months in 225 lit. French Nevers barrels – 90 % new and 10 % second fill.

Description: Full bodied deep ruby colour – soft oak and grape tannins – a complex wine.
